Federal government creates new jobs for youth in Huron-Bruce
Huron-Bruce MP Ben Lobb has announced that the federal government will provide $250,574 in funding to more than 100 organizations in the riding, through the Canada Summer Jobs Program, to create 116 jobs this summer for young Canadians.
“Through Canada Summer Jobs, we are helping to equip young Canadians with the skills and experience they need to get jobs now and prepare for the workforce of tomorrow," says Lobb. "By creating jobs for youth in Huron-Bruce, Canada Summer Jobs helps students, employers and our local economy. It is yet another example of how our government is creating jobs and economic growth.”
Canada Summer Jobs helps students gain the skills and experience they need to be successful, now and in the future, while earning money for the next school year. In 2015, the program is expected to create about 35,000 jobs, while helping employers address skills shortages.
Since 2009, the federal government has invested over $1.7-million in Huron-Bruce through the Canada Summer Jobs program.
