Bluewater Summer Playhouse announces 2015 season

The Bluewater Summer Playhouse has announced its 2015 season, full of music and comedy, with three plays and four spectacular musical performances.

Ralph Small returns as artistic director, and Bruce Power is the season sponsor. Other major sponsors include the Municipality of Kincardine, the Society of Energy Professionals, Enbridge, Armow Wind, Ontario Power Generation, ReMax, Investors Group, 98 the Beach, the Eric Belle, GreenField Specialty Alcohols, Meridian Credit Union, myFM, Blackburn Radio, Canadian Tire, and Lakeside Downtown Kincardine.

Shirley Hayes (L) of the Society of Energy Professionals, presents a donation of $3,000, to Miranda Graham and Jennifer Webb of the Bluewater Summer Playhouse

Bluewater's 22nd season opens with "The 39 Steps," a mixture of a Hitchcock masterpiece and a juicy spy novel, with a dash of Monty Python. It runs July 9-24.

Next on the playbill is "Walk Like a Man," inspired by "Jersey Boys," the hit movie and stage play about the life and times of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. It runs July 28-30.

"Born In A Barn," by Kevin Riordan, runs Aug. 4-7. This is a follow up to the successful rural comedy, "Funny Farmers."

The final play is Norm Foster's "The Ladies Foursome," which is the female version of Foster's famous "Foursome" last season. It's the ladies turn, as four unforgettable women share the fairways and sand traps of friendship. It runs Aug. 13-29.

The Bluewater season also includes three concerts:

  • "Soul Men" - Blues Brothers Tribute - June 24-25
  • "Rant Maggie Rant" - this group takes traditional Celtic music as its foundation and then draws in influences from World Music - Sept. 5
  • "Beatlemania Revisited" - A Tribute to the Fab Four - Sept. 11

Tickets are $22.12 plus HST for 2 p.m. matinees; and $24.78 plus HST for 8 p.m. shows (9 p.m. on Saturdays).
