ATV OPERATOR CHARGED
(RIPLEY, ON) – May 8, at 11:47 p.m., a South Bruce OPP officer on patrol along Tain Street in Ripley, stopped a green 2001 Suzuki All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV).
The officer found that the operator had been drinking alcohol. A 19-year-old Huron Township man was charged with drive with no licence plate, fail to surrender licence, and novice driver blood-alcohol level above zero. The driver was also served a three-day licence suspension following a warn result at the roadside.
DRIVER CHARGED AFTER POLICE CRUISER AVOIDS COLLISION
(KINLOSS TWP, ON) – May 6, at 5:46 p.m., a South Bruce OPP officer was on patrol along Highway 9 in Kinloss Township, when an approaching red Ford Fusion started to cross the centre-line.
The officer moved the cruiser to the shoulder of the road to avoid a collision, then stopped the Fusion along Highway 9. The driver, 38-year-old Brian DILTS of Hamilton, was charged with careless driving and drive with no licence.
POLICE MAKE ARRESTS IN THEFT OF COPPER WIRE
(KINCARDINE, ON) – The South Bruce OPP has arrested three people in connection with the theft of copper wire from the former landfill site along Valentine Avenue in Kincardine, reported April 27, at 9:26 a.m. More than 200 metres of copper wire, valued at more than $2,000, was taken.
Forty-five-year old Paul BROWN of Kincardine was arrested May 7. He has been charged with possession of stolen property and breach of probation. He was held in custody pending the results of a show cause hearing May 7.
Thirty-five-year old Candy MIDDELKAMP of Kincardine was arrested May 7. She was charged with possession of stolen property. She is scheduled to appear in court June 15, to answer to the charge.
Fifty-one-year old Chris HARRIS of Kincardine was arrested May 8. He has been charged with possession of stolen property and two counts of breach probation. He was held in custody pending the results of a show cause hearing May 8.

TIME CHANGE FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT TORCH RUN FOR SPECIAL OLYMPICS
(SOUTH BRUCE COUNTY, ON) – The South Bruce OPP is pleased to announce it is joining police officers from across North America supporting Special Olympians with the Law Enforcement Torch Run.
Wednesday May 20, there will be two torch run events in Southern Bruce County.
At 9:30 a.m., the Torch Run will start at the Quinn Plaza and run to Victoria Park in Kincardine.
At 10:45 a.m., the Torch Run athletes will be running laps around the track at the Walkerton District Community School located on Yonge Street South in Walkerton.
Supporters are encouraged to attend the planned route and cheer on the runners as they pass by.
