Heavy snow and high wind have caused the closure of Highway 21 for the second time this week.
Tuesday morning, school buses were cancelled to Ripley-Huron Community School and Lucknow Central Public School, and there were in-town buses only for Kincardine schools, including Ecole Elgin Market, Huron Heights, Kincardine Township-Tiverton, and St. Anthony's, due to poor road conditions.
Kincardine District Secondary School was open for study purposes only, with exams postponed to Wednesday.
Tuesday afternoon, the Kincardine area was hit with extremely-heavy snowfall, followed by strong wind. This resulted in blowing and drifting snow, causing havoc for motorists heading home from work, and prompting people to get out their snowblowers to clear driveways.

Numerous events and activities were cancelled throughout the day.
By 6 p.m., Highway 21 was closed, from Amberley to Goderich, due to widespread white-out conditions causing limited-to-nil visibility.
At about 8:30 p.m., Bruce County Road 23 (the B-line) was closed from Lorne Beach to Bruce County Road 15.
An hour later, Highway 21 was closed, from Goderich to Port Elgin, and 10 minutes later, Highway 9 was closed, from Kincardine to Walkerton.
The Polar Vortex continues, with the blowing and drifting snow expected to continue through to Thursday.
Highway 21, from Goderich to Port Elgin, was closed Friday, Jan. 25, for the first time this winter.
