Kincardine hospital foundation receives donations from Clothes Hamper, and Conservationists

The Kincardine and Community Health Care Foundation has received a total of $5,000 in donations from the Clothes Hamper and the Bruce County Conservationists.

Sue Young was on hand Thursday afternoon, to present a cheque for $4,000 from the Clothes Hamper Foundation. Located in downtown Kincardine, the Clothes Hamper sells gently-used clothing and is manned solely by volunteers. All the proceeds go to the Kincardine hospital.

The Clothes Hamper has made donations to the hospital since 1996, for a total contribution of $162,000.

Donations have gone toward a Bone Density Machine, Analyzer, Mammogram, X-ray equipment, Automated Dispensing Machines, and miscellaneous medical equipment and building funds.

Young is the founder of the Clothes Hamper. More than 20 years ago, she brought her mother to Canada from England, but shortly after, her mother died. Since her mother had worked at a used-clothing shop, Young decided to open something similar in Kincardine, with all proceeds going to support the hospital.

In addition, the Bruce County Conservationists donated $1,000 at their 8th Annual Dinner and Auction event!

Their affiliation with the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters, allows the majority of the funds raised at such events to remain in the community. The proceeds go to support local fish, wildlife conservation, projects and local youth betterment programs. 
 

The Conservationists also donated $1,000 last year; the foundation is very thankful for their support!
