Off the Broom - Kincardine Curling Club news
The fun of Halloween is over and now comes the real fun —yes, another curling season is about to get under way.
A big thanks to Chris Turcotte and his huge crew of volunteers for working long and hard to get the ice ready. It is not an easy undertaking. And to Barb Ross and Barb Wilson for their clean-up jobs. The club is looking good and we are ready to “rock.”
As our regular draws get under way this week we send a warm welcome to all the new members and a welcome back to all others.

We will be hosting an evening for anyone who would like to give curling a try, Friday, Nov. 16, at 7 p.m. For more information or to sign up, visit www.trycurlingnow.ca. All you will need for the lesson is a pair of clean running shoes and some loose but warm clothing. At this point in time, this is the only scheduled clinic for this year, so come on out and get the low-down on this great game.

To get the ball rolling, we will be having our annual Innies versus Outies bonspiel, Saturday, Nov. 17, which pits the “in-town” curlers against those who live in the outlying areas (Point Clark, Tiverton, etc). This is an excellent spiel for new curlers to get their feet wet and see what fun bonspieling can be. For more information or to sign up, give Jen Lawrie a call at 519-396-3621, or check for the sign-up sheet at the club. The theme this year is the Wig and Moustache Bash - it is Movember after all. It starts at 1 p.m. and includes two games and supper. Hurry—you don’t want to miss out on this event.

Junior curling will begin Nov. 11 at 1 p.m. There is always room at our “house” for more kids to join in a great winter activity.

Lastly, mark Wednesday, Nov. 28, on your calendar as this will be our Fall General Meeting. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m.
