A heartfelt thanks to the United Way of Bruce Grey

To the Editor:

As the new school year gets under way, the Bluewater District School Board would like to express its thanks and deepest appreciation to the United Way of Bruce Grey for its outstanding efforts in assisting local families through its annual Backpack Program.

It is amazing to hear that this year’s campaign set a record with approximately 2,450 backpack requests for students ranging from Kindergarten to Grade 12.

Many Bluewater school board students benefit from this vital program.

We know that their back-to-school experiences are vastly enhanced as a result of the hard work and generosity of the many United Way of Bruce Grey staff, volunteers and donors who selflessly go above and beyond to make this happen.

Their ongoing commitment and selfless acts of caring, ensure that all students in Bruce and Grey counties have an equal opportunity to start school equipped with the items they need to support their learning and success.
