Cheers, Kincardine! See you in 10!
To the Editor:
Although not born and raised in Kincardine, I have always known that the seven years I spent growing up there in the 1970s would leave a deep-rooted love for the town and its people in my heart.
I journeyed back to Kincardine as an old boy last week, now age 58. I have learned many life lessons since those “coming of age days” in the '70s. One of which is giving back.
You see, since those early days living there and raising Cain, I realized that I probably took more than I gave from the town. So, I took advantage of many opportunities to volunteer during the Old Boys Reunion, and it felt very good to give back a little to the town.
Besides that confession, I had a great six days attending events and reacquainting with old pals. I also was fortunate to make many new friends who were quick to let me know you're a stranger only once.
Cheers Kincardine! See you in 10!
