Barn fire loss estimated at $400,000
Officials estimate the loss of a barn at 549 Northline, in Kincardine, at $400,000.

Firefighters were called to the blaze Friday, April 3, at 5:40 p.m., where the barn was totally engulfed in flames, says Kincardine fire chief Kent Padfield. Crews from Kincardine and Tiverton stations worked for several hours to extinguish the fire, while Ripley-Huron and Paisley fire departments assisted with mutual aid by providing water tankers.

 

"Two animals were lost in the fire, as well as numerous pieces of farm equipment and about 300 large bales of hay," says Padfield. "The cause of the fire is under investigation and the loss is estimated at $400,000."
 


 

The Kincardine Fire Department also responded to the following calls"

 

At 4:35 a.m., April 2, firefighters from the Kincardine station were dispatched to a chimney fire on Olde Victoria Street, Kincardine. The fire was extinguished before the fire department arrived and no damage was reported.

 

April 2, crews responded to alarms sounding on Durham Street, and April 4. on Boiler Beach Road for alarms sounding. No fire was found on investigation.
 

April 6, Tiverton station assisted the Paisley Fire Department at a chimney fire on Concession 8 in Bruce Township.
