Walkerton birthing centre sets new record with more than 400 babies delivered in 2014-15
The South Bruce Grey Health Centre’s Family Birthing Centre, located at the Walkerton hospital, welcomed more than 400 babies in 2014‐2015 (April 1, 2014, to March 31, 2015), setting a new record for the number of births at the facility.
The previous year, a record-setting 365 babies were delivered there, but this year rounded out at 403.
Easten Oberle son of Jennifer and Robin Oberle, was the 400th baby born at the birthday centre, Tuesday, March 24.
“We have an expert team of nurses, physicians and midwives that delivers first-rate care to our patients and families,” says Paul Rosebush, health centre president and chief executive officer. “We take great pride in our family-centred approach, and are really excited that our program is continuing to grow.”
The birthday centre features six birthing suites where expectant mothers receive one‐on‐one nursing care through their labours.
