Kinetic Knights win Engineering Inspiration award at North Bay Regional
The Kinetic Knights Robotics Team 781 of Kincardine brought home the Engineering Inspiration award from the North Bay Regional last weekend, March 27-28.
This FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) award celebrates outstanding success in advancing respect and appreciation for engineering within a team’s community.
Team 781 and its robot, L.C., finished the qualifying rounds in 19th spot out of 36 teams. The Kinetic Knights were then selected to compete with Alliance 7, joining Teams 4476 and 2609, for the quarter-final matches.
The Alliance put forward its best effort, but came short of making it to the semi-finals by just seven points.
Winning the Engineering Inspiration award means the Kinetic Knights are eligible to compete at the world championships in St. Louis, Missouri, April 23-25.
The team is currently fund-raising to go to worlds. A Bottle Drive is slated for Saturday, April 18, in Kincardine.
