Kids should be allowed to learn, interact, even at doctor's office, says reader
To the Editor:
RE: "Doctor's office is not a playground, says reader"

Thank for your concern. However, I was at the medical clinic today and my 15-month-old son brought more joy to the patients in the waiting room than anything I've ever seen.

I'm sorry if you were having a bad day and didn't realize the joy children bring to most people's lives. I'm sorry when the wait is long and my bouncing knee only entertains my busy kid for 15 minutes. I think you need to get over yourself and let kids be kids.

It wasn't so long ago you were running around causing a disturbance. Kids will be kids and we need to encourage them to be themselves and learn to explore and interact. I'm also sorry my kid wants to run around and yell "dad" or "kitty cat" or "fish" or "blue." Most happy people, unlike yourself, are excited and encourage the kids to learn and interact at the doctor's office.

In conclusion, we didn't have one complaint and my beautiful son brought so much joy to the patients in the waiting room today, it was amazing. It makes all your negative nonsense go by the wayside, because what I saw today made it all worth it. You can't put a price on the smiles and joy we saw on the faces of a group of 90-year-olds.

Maybe a play area for kids at the medical clinic is in order but people complaining about kids playing and being themselves, is not needed. There's no need for these miserable people around children. We need to encourage them to be themselves and learn. I'm sorry you don't feel the same and I'm sorry you have a very sad outlook on life.

Thanks,
Rick Hill
