RE: "Doctor's office is not a playground, says reader"
I agree with most of what this lady has seen and listened to---at the medical clinic.
However, should staff had intervened or talked to the parents of these children, the kids might have behaved in a more appropriate manner.
The cell phones should not have been used---maybe seize them if they are on them---until they leave the premises, and the parents obviously are not the least bit concerned about the patients waiting to be seen by their doctor.
Shame on these parents---remove them if they do not control the behaviour of themselves and their children.
On the other hand, it can be a long, long time for children to sit there, so a small playing area with a few toys would be much more appropriate---also some reading books----for both parents and kids.
I feel the medical staff is as much to blame as the parents and children.
