George "Bruce" Edwards of Kincardine died Nov. 4, 2026, at the Kincardine Hospital, in his 77th year.
Survived by his wife, Carol, whom he married in 1974.
Also survived by his children, Jamie (Shannon), Leanne (Mike), and Rob (Shannon); and his grandchildren, Will, Kasey, Brooklyn, Molly, Ava, and Braeden.
Bruce leaves behind his brother, David (Lorraine); and sister, Evelyn (Gerald); along with a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
Predeceased by his parents, Robert (Bob) and Frances (Fran) Edwards.
Bruce’s career with Ontario Hydro began in 1974. He worked at the stations in Rolphton, Darlington, and finally at the Bruce. He was known for his persistence in problem-solving, especially in the technical field. He was convinced there wasn’t a problem that didn’t have a solution. That persistence remained until the very end of his life.
He was always interested in any new construction project that was under way in Kincardine and was often spotted scootering around town, checking on the progress at various construction sites. He was especially looking forward to the Lighthouse Fellowship Baptist Church expansion, scheduled to start in 2027.
Thank you to all of the doctors, nurses, and other staff who gave Bruce such excellent care while he was in hospital. Special thanks and appreciation are extended to Pastor Steve, Pastor Dave, Pastor Rob, Pastor Eric, and Pastoral Intern Zach for their many visits, prayers, and encouragement. Your compassion and care truly lifted us up and sustained us in our darkest hours.
Bruce understood how blessed he was to have not only a wonderful family but also a wonderful Saviour and church family who stood by us during the fiercest of storms. The storms have now settled, and Bruce lives freely in his eternal home, without the constraints of a broken body and confused mind. That gives us the greatest comfort.
Visitation will be held Monday, Nov. 16, 2026, at 10 a.m., at the Lighthouse Fellowship Baptist Church, 137 Mahood-Johnston Drive, Kincardine, followed by the funeral at 11 a.m., at the church.
Interment, Kincardine Cemetery, with a reception to follow at the church.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Lighthouse Fellowship Baptist Church Building Expansion Fund, would be appreciated by the family. Donations and condolences may be made on-line at www.cameronsofkincardine.com. Please stipulate ‘the building fund’ when donating on-line.
