In 1967, equipped with a pioneering spirit, Ron moved his family to Holtyre, in Northern Ontario. This land of rocks, sparkling lakes and trees quickly became his home; he was a northerner deep within his heart.
As a farmer and mine-worker, Ron was skilled and not afraid of hard work. He was strong-willed and opinionated, and his friends who received regular calls, would be fed a diet of updates, insights and Ron’s view on the world. His yearly Christmas calls will be missed by many.
Ron will be fondly remembered by his large and extended family and many friends throughout Ontario and Western Canada.
A memorial service will be held at the Ripley Cemetery, Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. followed by refreshments at the Ripley-Huron Legion, 18 Jessie Street, Ripley.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Temiskaming Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Donations and condolences may be made on-line at www.cameronsofkincardine.com.
