The 100 People Who Share Bruce County group gathered at Ainsdale Golf Course, July 27, for its summer meeting. Supper participants enjoyed a full barbecue chicken dinner before kicking off the evening’s business with an update on how funds awarded in October, 2025, and April, 2026, were used.
David Waite of the Kincardine Football Association described how that organized used its 100 People Who Share donation to help bring football back to Kincardine after many years' absence. It sounds as if the players and all involved have created a strong team. Go Knights, go!
Next the group heard from Karen Ruetz of Books in the Bruce, and was very impressed with the work she has been doing to promote early literacy in the community. The new signage and promotional materials purchased with the donation will extend the outreach of the program and improve the outdoor literary experience.

The chosen presenters for July were the Pine River Watershed Initiative Network (PRWIN), nominated by Don Farrell; Pegasus Riding Association Nurturing Challenged Equestrians (PRANCE), nominated by Anne Rock; and Women’s House Serving Bruce and Grey, nominated by Chris McCullough.
The nominators accompanied their chosen organization to provide support and assist with the question-and-answer portion following each presentation. Lisa Zettler and Brynn Arnold spoke on behalf of PRWIN, Danielle Bois represented Women’s House, and Ann Marie Johnston presented for PRANCE.
After hearing three engaging talks, members voted to support PRANCE, a therapeutic equestrian centre in Saugeen Shores, dedicated to the growth and development of individuals with intellectual, physical and emotional disabilities, through experiences with horses. The group looks forward to hearing how these funds help support your horses, riders and other therapeutic programs.

Linda Bowers of 100 People Who Share Bruce County will provide the group with an E-mail update, illustrating the impact this funding organization provides to those that are nominated. Members are also encouraged to E-mail the leadership team the names of other organizations that could benefit from this generosity.
As always, the group welcomes suggestions, ideas, comments and questions. Thanks to the members for bringing friends to increase the numbers. The group is at 100 members but would love to keep growing!
The next meeting is Monday, Oct. 26, at 7 p.m., and everyone is welcome. Come and see how wonderful it can be to give back to your community in an immediate and impactful way!
If you're interested in joining the group for supper at 6 p.m., E-mail Kimberlee Lowry at kimberlee1072@yahoo.ca to reserve your spot.
