(HURON COUNTY, ON) - The Huron County OPP is looking for motivated individuals to participate in its first annual Citizen's Police Academy.
The academy is an opportunity for citizens to learn about policing in a way that very few get to experience without becoming a sworn member of the OPP. Selected applicants will engage in interactive sessions led by members of various specialty units within the OPP, including, Major Crime, Emergency Response Team, Forensic Analysis, and so much more! This series of interactive information sessions is presented by field experts and specialists who will share their passion for policing.
Whether you're considering a career in law enforcement or simply want to learn more about your local police service, this program offers a valuable inside perspective. No matter what inspires you to participate, you will leave with a deeper understanding of the daily challenges and responsibilities carried by OPP officers.
This free program will run every Wednesday, 6-8 p.m., from Oct. 28 to Dec. 2, at the Huron OPP detachment (325 Albert Street, Clinton), except for Nov. 11.
We are looking for community-minded individuals, 18 years of age and older, who represent a wide range of demographics, including age, motivation, and life experience. Preference will be given to those applicants interested in a career in policing.
