Another beautiful week of great September weather now that autumn is here! And with soybeans and corn silage coming off, there's lots of equipment on the roads, so stay safe everyone and take your time travelling!
Of course, lots of people in the area are volunteering, attending and enjoying the International Plowing Match this week just outside of Walkerton in beautiful Bruce County! Welcome all from near and far and a big thank you to all on the organizing end of this event. We appreciate all your commitment. Bruce County and Grey County Women's Institute members are at the match in the Quilt Tent so stop by and say hello!
Several folks gathered at St. Andrew's United Church in Ripley, last Sunday afternoon, to help celebrate Dorothy Needham's 90th birthday with tea and cake. We enjoyed sharing stories with family and friends of places and events with a wonderful teacher, mom, neighbour and friend!
Also belated Happy Birthday to Carole Robertson, Bert Piel, David Lochhead, Donna Bridge, Charlotte Farrell, Jayne Dietrich, Bernice Glenn, Elizabeth Cubberley, Nathan Beer and Linda McKee.
Belated Wedding Anniversary wishes to Wilfred and Dianne Gamble, Doug and Karen Martyn, Jim and Bern Scott, and Kim and Anthony Lawlor.
We extend our sympathies to the families of Edna Alton and Carol Atkinson of Lucknow and many other family and friends grieving the lost of loved ones recently. May your memories carry you through these difficult days.
Lucknow, Seaforth and Wiarton Fall Fairs were last weekend and the 4-H shows and all the exhibits were fantastic! The people over by Lucknow sure can grow some beautiful dahlias! Those zucchini races for the young people were just the ticket for those extra zucchinis that we're just about tired of hiding into the next batch of brownies or spaghetti sauce! Thank you for the fun times!
Several communities have been hosting Terry Fox Runs and thank you to all who support those events too.
This weekend, we look forward to the Ripley-Huron Fall Fair starting Thursday evening with the Wild West Dance for the Grades 7 and 8 kids. It's nice to see the decorating exhibits out and about in the community too. So, we'll "Meet Ewe at the Fair!"
