Discover Bruce County long-term care homes, Sept. 18

Bruce County is inviting community members to visit Brucelea Haven and Gateway Haven, Friday, Sept. 18. This is part of Long-Term Care Community Engagement Day, celebrating the role long-term care homes play in communities across Ontario.

This special day gives visitors an opportunity to explore the county's long-term care homes, meet the people who live and work there, and learn more about the supports available to residents.

"Long-term care homes are more than places of care," says warden Luke Charbonneau. "They are communities where residents build relationships, pursue interests, and stay connected to the people and experiences that matter most to them. We're excited to welcome visitors and highlight the strong sense of community that our residents, staff, volunteers and families help create every day."

Activities will take place at Brucelea Haven, 41 McGivern Street West in Walkerton, and Gateway Haven, 671 Frank Street in Wiarton, from 2-4 p.m. Guided tours will be available at both homes.

To protect the health of residents, the county asks those feeling unwell to visit another time.
