Unsettled weather had organizers worried but in the end, Sunday, Aug. 23 was a beautiful, sunny afternoon that saw more than 45 members of Huron Bruce Nature enjoying a corn roast and potluck supper - the club’s traditional welcome to a new season.

This year’s gathering took place in the back yard of Christine and Jim Roberts in Blair’s Grove. In addition to hot dogs, corn and a wonderful selection of side dishes and desserts, members enjoyed visiting and catching up in a casual social setting.

The first meeting of the new schedule takes place Tuesday, Sept. 22, at 7 p.m. at the Point Clark Community Centre. The guest speaker will be Jeannine Kralt, a Master Naturalist based in Grey County. She enjoys taking a closer look at the world around her and aims to help nature be more accessible, using her photography to tell stories. Her presentation is titled, “Saunter Nature: Finding Wonder in the World Around Us.”
The club meets eight times per year and organizes many hikes and tours of local trails, gardens and interesting nature-related attractions. New members are always welcome and returning members are encouraged to bring a guest.
