Congratulations to Huron-Kinloss Township on a successful Ripley Food, Arts and Crafts Festival last Saturday, with more than 800 people in attendance! There was for sure great food and wonderful artists displaying their work.
The Teeswater Fair was also last weekend with the combine smash-up derby being very popular for the spectators! The Teeswater 4-H Beef Club hosted its club achievement day and open beef show, Saturday. Congratulations to the newly-crowned senior ambassador, Sabrina Ruetz, and junior ambassador, Clara Scott, and all the exhibitors and participants, for a busy weekend and great shows.
More than 50 junior members of the Ontario Shorthorn Association spent the weekend learning about the breed, judging, and preparing animals for show at the Erin Fairgrounds. Paisley and Nora Farrell of Ripley and Amelia and Oliver Ruetz of Mildmay were just four young members in attendance, to make new friends and new skills when working with their cattle. Thank you to the association for running a great program.
The Bruce County Heritage Association hosted its annual Antique Tractor and Machinery Show in Paisley and those who attended had a great time too!
Our thoughts and prayers are with local families who grieving at this time. We remember the families and friends of Jess Burrows, Minerva Zavaleta and Ken Gannett of Kincardine and Gerry Evans of Lucknow during these difficult days.

Registration is now open for the 2026 Ripley-Huron Fall Fair Mammoth Parade. It will be done completely on-line. All you have to do is click the link to our website at ripleyfair.ca, then scroll to parade registration. We’re not ones to wish the summer away, but there are only 71 days left until we “Meet Ewe at the Fair!”

The Stoneboat Pullers will be at our fair, Friday, Sept. 25, from 6-9 p.m. Come and compete, or come to watch in our refreshment tent. Registration is on-line at www.stoneboatpullers.com/2026-pulls/2026/9/25/ripley-fair.
The Light Horse Show is Saturday, Sept. 26. For registration or any questions, contact Danielle Bannerman. Exhibitors must be a member of the Ripley Agricultural Society and new members must pay the $5 fee and obtain a membership number at the horse show office before the show. Entry fee for all classes is $3 per class. Every horse and rider combination must have one number. Age is determined as of Jan. 1, 2025. Tyke, 10 years and under; Junior, 11-15 years; Senior, 16 years and up. Tykes may also compete in Junior Classes.
