Weight restrictions and alternate truck routes, previously implemented on the Durham Street Bridge in Walkerton, have now been lifted and removed.
Following a recent review of the bridge’s condition and the completion of the required repairs, the bridge can safely accommodate regular traffic operations, including heavy truck traffic.
Please note:
All weight restrictions on the Durham Street Bridge have been removed
Temporary alternate truck route signage has been removed and designated alternate truck routes have been discontinued
All vehicles, including commercial and heavy trucks, may now resume using the bridge in accordance with standard traffic regulations.
Compliance with weight restrictions and use of alternate truck routes played an important role throughout the project in maintaining public safety and protecting critical transportation infrastructure while repairs were undertaken.
