After the storm that went through on Canada Day here, friends and family near Cambridge and Bobcaygeon and locations not so far away, had power outages and clean-up through till Friday. Hope everyone is getting on better now!

Harvey and Bren de Leeuw enjoyed the company of Vova Kovalenko and Rodion Dobrynski for the week as they readied themselves for a final trip to their new home in Stephensville, Newfoundland. We wish them all the very best as they embark on this journey and in reuniting with Katya, Kostya, Seva and Chloe who left earlier in May.

The Federated Women’s Institutes of Canada (FWIC), is holding its annual general meeting on-line, July 7. Guest speakers are Sarah Robertson-Barnes of Toronto who will be speaking on “Sustainable in the Suburbs,” and Liz Louden, president of the Canadian Forensic Nurses Association.
The Purple Grove Women’s Institute has set programming for the year (2026-27) and we are looking forward to a wonderful array of great topics, knowledgeable speakers, networking, fun, fellowship and camaraderie.
