Meetings will continue over the coming weeks as the newly-appointed members of the board of health with Grey Bruce Public Health, prepare to resume full decision-making authorities.
That's the word from Jim Pine and Dr. Eileen de Villa, special advisors to the Ontario chief medical officer of health, Dr. Kieran Moore, in an update issued Friday.
The pair stated that orientation began June 4 and 5, as members met to learn about their responsibilities to the board, as well as the legal framework, public health standards and board operations that will guide their decisions. Orientation will continue over the coming weeks as the board prepares to resume full decision-making authorities.
These meetings also offered an opportunity for the board to formally sit down with Dr. Brittany Graham, Grey Bruce acting medical officer of health, to discuss her vision for the renewed organization.
"We are impressed by Dr. Graham’s dedication to partnership with Bruce and Grey counties, and by her team’s commitment to strengthening public health and building lasting relationships across the region," state the special advisors. "We remain grateful to both counties for their ongoing leadership and collaboration."
