Off the Broom - Kincardine Curling Club holds annual fund-raising golf tournament

A week ago, the Kincardine Curling Club held its annual fund-raising golf tournament at Ainsdale Golf Course.

The raffle, 50/50 and silent auction were well-supported by the players. To the people and businesses that donated prizes, we can’t thank you all enough - it is just so appreciated.

Following the golf and the prize presentations, a great roast beef dinner was enjoyed by all.

Winners of the day, were the father-and-son foursome of Kevin and Riley Bridge and Pete and Chuck Newton. Riley and Chuck are two of our junior curlers and it was great to see them join us on the golf course.

For those who watched the Canadian Open golf tournament this past weekend, you might be interested to know one of our local curlers, Karen Leaning, was a volunteer there. She has been doing this for several years. Way to go, Karen.

Another of our curlers had an unfortunate accident earlier this month and now will be missing most of his golfing season this summer. We wish Mike Meraw as speedy a recovery as possible and hope you will be all set to curl next fall.

Our annual general meeting will be held Wednesday, June 24, at 7 p.m. at the club. Please try to attend - it's a great time to share your input about this past year and future years.

Enjoy your summer!
