There’s something special about making music together — the energy of rehearsal nights, the excitement before a performance, and the friendships that grow through a shared love of music.
The Kincardine Community Concert Band is inviting new members to join this welcoming and enthusiastic musical family. Whether you’re an experienced musician, returning to your instrument after a few years away, or simply looking for a rewarding community activity, there’s a place for you in the band.
WHY JOIN?
The band performs a wide variety of music throughout the year, including:
Concert band classics
Popular movie and Broadway themes
Marches and patriotic music
Seasonal and holiday favourites
Light contemporary selections
One of the greatest joys of the band is bringing live music to the community through concerts, outdoor performances, and special events. From summer “Music in the Park” evenings to festive Christmas concerts, members enjoy sharing music that entertains audiences of all ages.
NEW MEMBERS WELCOME
New members are especially welcome in all sections. If you play a brass, woodwind, or percussion instrument, consider coming to a rehearsal and seeing what the band is all about. The atmosphere is relaxed, supportive, and focused on enjoying music together.
Even if you haven’t played in years, don’t worry — many members once dusted off instruments that had been sitting in closets for decades.
MORE THAN MUSIC
Joining the band offers more than musical opportunities:
Meet new friends in the community
Keep your musical skills active
Build confidence and creativity
Enjoy a fun weekly activity
Be part of a long-standing local tradition
Music has a unique way of connecting people, and community bands continue to play an important role in keeping the arts vibrant and accessible. The Kincardine Community Concert Band is proud to continue that tradition and looks forward to welcoming new faces this season.
INTERESTED IN JOINING?
Rehearsals are held every Wednesday, from 7-8:30 p.m., in the basement of Kincardine United Church, 721 Princes Street, and musicians of varying experience levels are encouraged to participate.
