Ripley-Huron Legion donates to Ripley school music program
The Ripley-Huron Legion has donated $3,000 to the music program at Ripley-Huron Community School.
Legion president Susan Reeves was at the school, Wednesday, April 8, to make the presentation to music teacher Mackenzie Burgess.
The funds will be used to purchase instruments and equipment needed for the school music groups to perform in public, said Burgess.
"We need clamps to hold the music in place when we perform outside," she said. "We also need new instruments, including five new guitars."
"We're pleased to donate to the music program at the school," said Reeves.
Burgess is currently working with a cast of 30-plus Grades 5-8 students at the school, rehearsing "Aladdin Kids" which is set to be performed during the first week of June.
