Next Kincardine Municipal Matters session to be held April 25
The Municipality of Kincardine is inviting residents and visitors to connect, ask questions, and stay informed through Municipal Matters - an ongoing series of informal, drop-in sessions where members of the public can learn about topics that matter to them and hear directly from municipal staff and council.

The next Municipal Matters session will take place Saturday, April 25, from 1-4 p.m., in the Miller Room at the Davidson Centre, as part of the Kincardine and District Chamber of Commerce's Home and Lifestyle Show.

This spring session will feature a series of short discussions on timely topics. Light refreshments will be provided. Residents are encouraged to drop in for the sessions that interest them or stay for the full afternoon:

  • Fire Safety and Emergency Planning, 1-2 p.m. - Learn how to keep your household safe and prepared, from fire prevention to emergency readiness, with Kincardine fire prevention officer Scott Thomson and community emergency management co-ordinator Shane Watson.
  • Register to Vote, 2-2:30 p.m. - Find out how to check, update, or add your information to the voters list for upcoming municipal and provincial elections, with Kincardine deputy clerk Tracey Guy.
Accessory Dwelling Units: Construction Guide, 2:30-3 p.m. - Explore what you need to know about building an additional dwelling unit on your property, with Bruce County planner Amy Rogers.
Community Conversation: Tourism in Kincardine, 3-4 p.m. - Share your ideas and help shape a vibrant, year-round tourism future for the municipality, with Kincardine tourism co-ordinator Kirston Zandwyk and strategic initiatives manager Lorie Fioze.

Municipal Matters provides a welcoming space to hear directly from staff and council about municipal initiatives, services, and priorities, while giving the community an opportunity to share feedback and help shape future conversations.

In support of this initiative, the municipality has launched a new Municipal Matters web page. This page will serve as a central hub for information on future sessions, topics, and schedules, as well as a record of past meetings.

Municipal Matters first launched in late 2025 with sessions in Tiverton and Kincardine focused on Blue Box recycling program changes. As the program continues, sessions will be shaped by community input to reflect the issues that matter most to residents, businesses, and visitors.

Community members are encouraged to explore the municipality’s Contact Us web page to subscribe to news updates, sign up for newsletters, and find additional ways to stay engaged. What matters to you, matters to us.
