Kincardine art student is guest artist for month of April at Victoria Park Gallery
Hanna Beaune, 20, of Kincardine, an art student at Sheridan College, has her work on display as the guest artist for the month of April, at the Victoria Park Gallery in downtown Kincardine.
A recipient of the art gallery's scholarship in 2024, Beaune has been studying film and television arts, working toward a Bachelor of Fine Arts, but plans to transfer to York University to study English literature and professional writing.
Her exhibit at the gallery includes acrylic canvasses that she created while a student at Kincardine District Senior School, and several prints she recently created using ink, watercolour and gouache.
"I like working in the digital medium, sketching on my iPad and then transferring it to paper and finishing it with ink and watercolour," she said.
The prints are a series from a show she used to watch, with such titles as "Operetta Phantom," "Draculaura" and "Frankie Stein." They combine fine art with style and fashion.
Her favourite print is "Unlikely Lovers," which is a combination of ink, watercolour and gouache.
She also has her portfolio available, displaying many of her recent pieces.
While she wants to continue with her artwork, she plans to strengthen her career by focusing on film and writing, working toward a PhD in Gothic literature and ultimately, becoming a university professor.
Her work can be found on Instagram @Beaune Illustrations.
