The Ripley Curling Club hosted its year-end bash at the community centre last Saturday night. Great food, great music, and a lot of fun for everyone there! Thanks for your support this season.
Congratulations to the Kincardine girls Under-15B team that won the Ontario Women's Hockey Association provincial championship on the weekend! To celebrate, there was a parade, Tuesday night, in downtown Kincardine.
Members of the District 8 horticultural societies made their way to Flesherton, Saturday, where the Markdale Horticultural Society hosted the annual meeting. Everyone enjoyed the displays, vendors, and speakers and networking with other societies!
Happy Belated Birthday to folks in the past week or so - Leanne Herr, Sheila Pike, Ashley Wray, and Brett Courtney who is already four years old!
We also extend our condolences to the family of Marilyn Farrell (Thompson) of Walkerton. Many have Ripley high school memories of the ball teams and teammates that Marilyn played with. We remember her family and other families grieving at this time.
Wasn't it interesting to watch the Artemis II landing! It was also the International Day of Human Space Flight, April 12, recognizing the actual first human journey space flight by Yuri Gagarin, orbiting the earth April 12 1961.
Guess we're all on the weather watch these past few days and weeks. Hold onto your hats and be prepared for anything! April showers bring May flowers - so we'll see lots of daffodils coming out soon. Have a great week everyone!
RIPLEY AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY
Thank you to everyone who attended the Volunteer Appreciation Lunch at the Ripley-Huron Legion, Sunday. Everyone enjoyed the famous Legion's burgers and fries and a visit with fair volunteers and friends!
The agricultural society is selling delicious, homemade donuts and pies! All proceeds go toward the school fall trip to the Royal Winter Fair and the annual donation to the Kincardine and Community Health Care Foundation. Place your order by contacting a director or by E-mail:
