Afternoon of mystery and live jazz at Walker House Museum in Kincardine
The Walker House Museum in Kincardine welcomes the community to step into a world of shadows, suspense, and smooth jazz at "Jazz Noir and Narrative," an afternoon celebrating mystery writing and live music, Saturday, April 11, from 2-4 p.m.
This special literary event will feature live readings and an audience question-and-answer session with three acclaimed Canadian mystery authors:
- Jeffrey Round, award-winning author and filmmaker, featured at the Toronto International Festival of Authors in 2024. His most recent novel, "The Sulphur Springs Cure," has received critical acclaim.
- Hope Thompson, licensed private investigator, crime writer, and award-winning filmmaker, known for writing for CBC’s "Baroness von Sketch Show" and the podcast, "Whereabouts Unknown."
- M. H. Callway, author of the thriller, "Windigo Fire," and co-founder of the Mesdames and Messieurs of Mayhem, a national collective of Canadian crime writers and artists.
Set against the historic backdrop of the Walker House Museum, the event blends evocative live jazz with dramatic readings that explore the darker corners of storytelling. Guests will have the opportunity to meet the authors, ask questions, and immerse themselves in an afternoon of literary intrigue.
Admission is by donation, and a cash bar will be available.
