Huron Heights Grade 6 class wins Inclusive Education competition
Congratulations to
Miranda Graham’s Grade 6 class at Huron Heights Public School in Kincardine, for winning this year's
Inclusive Education competition, organized by Community Living of Kincardine and District.
Using the
Community Living of Kincardine and District Barriers and Strengths lesson, students worked in teams with limited materials and engaged in a meaningful discussion about “a fish in a tree” — exploring how everyone has unique strengths.
Graham said the discussion also tied in beautifully to the book, "Fish in a Tree," by Lynda Mullaly Hunt, inspiring lots of deep conversations about how having a disability does not equal stupidity. There is more to an individual than any one particular label.
Well done to the Grade 6 class which is now looking forward to hosting a pizza party!
LOTS OF SOCKS
The "Lots of Socks" portraits have arrived and they are amazing.
Thank you to local photographer
