Phase 2 work resumes on Durham Street Bridge in Walkerton

Phase 2 of the rehabilitation project on the Durham Street Bridge in Walkerton, will resume Monday, March 9. Initially, motorists can expect intermittent lane closures on the bridge, with traffic control measures in place.

Within the month, the bridge will transition to alternating traffic, with a single-lane closure managed by temporary traffic lights and additional traffic control measures.

Note:
 

• Weight restrictions on the Durham Street Bridge remain in effect and alternate truck routes have been posted
• Phase 2 of this work is expected to be complete by July, 2026
