South Bruce OPP welcomes cadet David Fincher to the team
The South Bruce OPP has welcomed
cadet David Fincher (above) to the team.
Born and raised in Huron County, Fincher’s familiarity with the area, combined with his commitment to public service, will be an asset as he begins his career with the OPP. Having graduated from Conestoga College with a diploma in health and fitness, he knows the importance of wellness, discipline, and physical preparedness in this job.
“The South Bruce OPP is proud to welcome cadet David Fincher to our detachment as he begins his journey in the OPP cadet program," said inspector Keegan Wilcox, detachment commander. "This program plays a vital role in strengthening public safety across the province, and cadets make a real difference in the communities they serve. Cadets support front-line members through a wide range of responsibilities that enhance crime prevention efforts, community engagement, and day-to-day operations. The program offers meaningful, hands-on experience in policing while fostering leadership, professionalism, and a deep understanding of community-based service.”
The program focuses on enhancing the career development and experience of promising police constable candidates — just like it did for constable Hogan Allen.
In December, 2023, Allen started his career with the South Bruce OPP as a cadet. He was able to gain experience and knowledge and applied those skills daily as he supported front-line officers and contributed to community-focused policing.
Allen completed his application to become a police constable with the OPP and is now proudly serving in the Walkerton detachment of the South Bruce OPP.
