Bruce County Public Library opens bookings for Community Volunteer Income Tax Program
The Community Volunteer Income Tax Program is returning to the Bruce County Public Library for the 2026 tax season, offering free, volunteer-led income tax filing support for eligible residents.
This program makes a meaningful impact across the community. In 2025, public library volunteers assisted in filing 433 income tax returns, resulting in more than $1.3-million in refunds and benefits returning to Bruce County residents.
“As a trusted community connector, we are proud to offer this valuable service once again," said library director Brooke Mclean. "Thanks to the dedication of our volunteers, even more residents can access the financial support available to them this tax season."
Appointments began Tuesday at five participating branches: Kincardine, Lucknow, Walkerton, Port Elgin and Chesley. Residents with modest incomes and simple tax returns may contact the branch they wish to attend by phone or E-mail to book their appointment and learn what documents to bring.
