Local pilots support Kincardine Hospital through auction of flight experiences
The successful bidders for a flight experience, through the Rock With Your Docs auction, met their flight crews and organizers at the Kincardine Airport, Sunday, Aug. 31.
Thanks to the generous donation of flight experiences from local pilots Bernhard Schropp, Jim Yundt, and Ric Thompson, the auction raised more than $14,000. These funds will directly benefit the Kincardine Hospital capital campaign, helping raise $18-million. The $79-million expansion project includes the addition of a new Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) suite and upgrades to the hospital.
Organized and co-ordinated by Jim Mimnagh and supported by COPA 172 captain Jack Searson, the flying event was very successful.
The weather was perfect and the guests had a wonderful experience, returning with smiles all around.
Appreciation goes to Katie Grieve of the Rock With Your Docs committee, who reached out to the local pilots to get the event under way.
