Kincardine environmental group, KEAN, launching Repair Café
The Kincardine Environmental Action Network (KEAN) has announced it is launching a Repair Café in Kincardine, a community program where volunteers help people fix their broken household items, keeping them out of the landfill and giving them a second life.
KEAN is kicking off this program with an information session, Tuesday, Sept. 16, at 5:30 p.m., in the Huron Room at the Davidson Centre.
Everyone is welcome, as organizers show some video of the Owen Sound and London Repair Cafés so people can get a feel for what the event will be like. Also on display will be the set-up for the Kincardine Repair Cafés. There will be light snacks and finger food provided.
KEAN is looking for:
- Volunteer fixers (handy with clothing, small appliances, electronics, bikes, furniture, tools, etc.)
- Helpers to assist with hospitality, sign-in, and organization
- Community members curious to learn more about how Repair Cafés work
This is your chance to connect with others, share your skills, and be part of a global movement making repair part of everyday life.
