Marie Starrs won $1,087 in the Catch the Ace draw. She chose Envelope No. 6 which contained the Nine of Clubs. The Ace of Spades remains in play. At the Saturday Meat Draw, Doc Roppel was our only double-dipper. Marg Culleton won the 50/50 Draw and took home $105. Congratulations Marg!

Don’t forget to sign up for our upcoming Branch Golf Tournament, happening Sunday, Sept. 28. You just need to register and pay for your team at the Legion Bar. Please reach out to Cathy if you have any questions. One other September happening for you to mark on your calendar is Friday, Sept. 5, which is Trivia Night. You can sign up your team at the Legion Bar.

Tickets, get your tickets ... Be sure to get your tickets for our 3rd Annual Lulu’s Band Hootenanny, Sept. 27. This date is coming quickly and you don’t want to miss out on a fun night of music and dancing. Tickets are just $40 each. Also, next week, tickets go on sale for The Ballaghs, who are performing Sunday, Dec. 14. Tickets for this event are $25 each. Just drop in to the Legion and get your tickets at the bar.

The Legion’s Early Bird Campaign begins next week, running Sept. 1 to Nov. 30. Don’t miss your opportunity to maintain the many benefits of your Legion membership, as well as save some money on your renewal.

We were sorry to hear of the sudden passing of Comrade John Chatham, president of the Ripley-Huron Legion. We send our deepest condolences to his family, friends and Legion comrades.
