The Walker House Museum in Kincardine is hosting a speaker presentation about “Bootlegging in the Greenock Swamp,” Thursday, April 10, from 2-4 p.m.

Pat Kelly will provide a captivating talk about the secretive world of bootlegging during prohibition in Bruce County!

Step back into that era when a group of determined men worked tirelessly in the heart of the sprawling 20,000-acre Greenock Swamp. Under the cover of night, they crafted moonshine, risking everything for the lure of fast money.

Explore the fascinating stories of their secretive lives, the immense challenges they faced, and the dangers they encountered as they navigated this hidden world.

From the hardships of their labour to the ever-present threat of punishment, these men lived on the edge, and the penalties of getting caught were severe. Gather for this presentation and uncover the marvellous tales of their resilience, ambition, and the high cost of their choices.

The event runs April 10, 2-4 p.m., at the Walker House Museum. Admission by donation.
