(HURON COUNTY, ON) - Members of the Huron County OPP took part in the Thanksgiving long weekend traffic campaign, Operation Impact, from Oct. 11-14.
The focus was placed on traffic safety and the "Big Four" which include: distracted driving, alcohol/drug-impaired driving, speeding/aggressive driving, and seatbelt compliance.
This year, Huron OPP officers conducted 124 traffic stops and issued 89 charges during the initiative, including:
45 for speeding
One for stunt-driving
10 for seatbelt non-compliance
Four for impaired driving
Seven insurance-related
22 various traffic-related infractions
Huron OPP officers also issued 52 warnings during the campaign period.
