Theresa Ivall won $1,307 in the Catch the Ace draw this week. She chose Envelope No. 44 which contained the Six of Spades. Hopefully, we can push the jackpot up over $17,000 for next week’s draw.
We had a good variety of winners at the Saturday Meat Draw, with no double-dippers. Congratulations to Jamie White who took home $213.50 in the 50/50 draw. If you like to plan ahead, the next MEGA Meat Draw is scheduled for Dec. 7.
183 Eats at the Legion is now serving up our new Fall Menu. You can view the menu items and prices on our Facebook page. Come and enjoy a great lunch at a great price! Just a reminder that you do not need to be a Legion Member to eat at 183 Eats; it’s open for everyone to enjoy.
While we are talking about Legion membership, here’s an additional reminder that the Legion is open to everyone in the community. You can come in and eat, have a drink at the bar, hang out with friends, or attend some of our many events and activities. Of course, we would love to have you as a member, but it’s not required to come to the Legion. We hope you drop by soon!
We are conducting a Branch 183 Legion questionnaire, trying to gather some feedback from both members and non-members, with the goal to make the Legion even better. If you have a few minutes we would love to hear your thoughts. You can find the questionnaire in a few ways. The link is posted on our Facebook page, Legion members received the link via a member E-mail, and you can also pick up a paper copy if you prefer, at the Legion Bar. Click here to access our on-line Branch 183 Questionnaire or go to bit.ly/legionQ.
Sunday, Sept. 29, the Legion’s Fun Golf Tournament was held at Ainsdale Golf Course, with 64 golfers participating. Organizer Cathy Alcombrack thanks everyone for supporting the branch. It was a great day with lots of laughs, and perfect weather. Two teams tied for first place: George and Sharon MacDonald and Rose and Lyle Cowan. The teams of George and Gloria Coulter and Ken and Jeannette Bellan finished second. Thanks to Christine and Kim for keeping everyone hydrated at the branch, and to Mary, Karin, Maryanne and Anil for working the kitchen and providing a great meal. See you next year!
