Local elementary school athletes advance to BESC West meet
The Kincardine public elementary school track and field meet was held Monday, June 3, for Grades 5-8, and Tuesday, June 4, for Grades 3-4, at the Davidson Centre in Kincardine.
At the Monday meet, there were almost 500 athletes from Huron Heights Public School, Kincardine District Senior School, and Ecole Elgin Market Public School, competing in running races, high jump, running long jump, standing long jump, triple jump, ball throw and shot put.
Despite the foggy, cool, rainy conditions, the participants did their best and achieved solid results.
The top two from each school advance to the Bluewater West (BESC) meet, slated for tomorrow (June 11) at the Davidson Centre track. This is the championship meet for the western part of the Bluewater District School Board.
