That relationship with your Little Brother creates a positive connection in both of your lives. It’s great to live in a community that looks out for each other and the common good.”
Yolanda Ritsema, executive director of Big Brothers and Big Sisters of South Bruce North Huron, sent out a heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended the event, as well as the dancers, the coaches, volunteers and sponsors, including title sponsor, the Society of United Professionals; broadcast sponsor, Bruce Telecom; and dance floor sponsor, Enbridge.
“Mentoring means the world to our Littles,” she said. “It’s important to have consistent, positive mentors in their lives to encourage them, hold them accountable, walk alongside them, be a friend and build trust.
“It costs $2,000 to support one Little per year, and we currently serve more than 85 Littles across southern Bruce and northern Huron counties. Your financial support tonight will make a big impact on these young people.
“Thank you to our dedicated supporters for sharing your time with us this evening. We are honoured to have you join us in person and virtually.”
Rencheck said that Bruce Power would add $5,000 to what was raised at the gala.
