Threat of showers fails to dampen spirits at Sunday night sing-a-long

The threat of showers failed to hinder the turn-out at the Sunday night sing-a-long in Dunsmoor Park, Aug. 23.

Special guest entertainers, Steve Deer and Friends, kept the surprisingly-large crowd tapping its toes.

The audience gathered under the adjacent pavilion to seek shelter from the sprinkles, but remained close to the performers.

Dave Barrie introduced the band, featuring Steve Deer on lead guitar, Brian Penner on rhythm guitar and lead vocals, and Wayne King on bass. The group performed many crowd favourites to enthusiastic applause.

Deer’s band will be playing at this year's Kincardine Fall Fair Saturday night dance, Sept. 5. Theme of the fair is “Blue Jeans and Country Dreams."

There are two more Sundays on the sing-a-long schedule, with Michael Semenuk playing Aug. 30, and Glenn Boyd's Orchestra on Sept. 6. For details, check the ad on the "Advertising" page of the Kincardine Record.
