Reid's Corners W.I. Alzheimer Tea raises almost $700
About 50 ladies gathered in the basement of Pine River United Church for the annual Alzheimer Tea, raising a total of $680 for the cause.
The Reid's Corners Women's Institute hosted the event, with members of the Purple Grove Women's Institute in attendance, as well as family and friends, and residents of RVilla Retirement Living in Ripley.
President Joan Wand welcomed everyone and gave a couple of readings about Alzheimer Disease: "Do Not Ask Me to Remember" and "My Caregiving Friend."
"Alzheimer's is a difficult disease," she said. "It's tough for the person affected, and for the caregivers."
The funds raised at the tea will go to the Alzheimer Society of Grey-Bruce, with more donations expected at the Reid's Corners W.I. September meeting.
