Kincardine Community Living Golf Classic raises $21,000
The 13th annual Community Living of Kincardine and District Charity Golf Classic was held Friday, July 16, at Ainsdale Golf Course, and raised $21,000.

“We were unsure of hosting the tournament this year because of the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic but the owners of Ainsdale, Taylor and Charles Candler, were so helpful during the planning of the event to ensure the safety of our golfers while still offering a great experience,” said Catherine Evans, communications and marketing co-ordinator.

The tournament welcomed 100 golfers on 25 teams. It featured staggered start-times for a safe and fun 18 holes of golf, prizes purchased from local businesses through a sponsorship from EPCOR, donated prizes from Bruce Power and Ainsdale Golf Course, lunch, power carts and a putting contest sponsored by Bruce Telecom.

“As it turns out, this was one of our most successful tournaments,” said Evans. “The weather was perfect, our golfers had a great time, and thanks to our sponsors, fund-raisers and golfers, we exceeded our $15,000 goal and raised $21,000 to enhance our programs and services. Sincere gratitude goes out to our change maker sponsor, Larry Bannerman, and our lunch sponsor, 2M Power.”

Proceeds from this tournament go toward helping an individual to start his first job, creating fun opportunities for youth to learn new skills, connecting members to recreational activities in the community, providing safe and comfortable homes for adults, and offering support and respite for families.

Community Living of Kincardine and District is already looking forward to next year’s tournament which has been booked for July 15, 2022, at Ainsdale Golf Course!
