WILLIAM ARTHUR (ART) DANAHY
April 9, 2026
William Arthur (Art) Danahy died peacefully at home in Kincardine, April 9, 2026, in his 86th year. Deeply missed by his beloved wife, Corabelle Grace Danahy (née Thompson), and his loving children, Kevin (Elaine), Terri-ann and Janice. Proud and devoted grandfather of Tyler and Grace Brousseau, and Nick and Samantha Vinandy. Fondly remembered by his sister, Jean Courneyea (Pete); as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. Predeceased by his parents, William Arthur Danahy and Laura May Danahy (née Suddards). Art was a well-known and respected member of the community. As the owner and operator of Kiltie Shoes in downtown Kincardine for more than 30 years, along with local real estate development, he built not only a successful business but many lasting relationships. He was also fortunate to have a close-knit group of friends he shared many years with, friendships that meant a great deal to him. Art loved sailing on Lake Huron and throughout the British Virgin Islands (BVIs), a favourite pastime second only to golfing. Most of all, he treasured time with his cherished family, and he rarely missed a Kincardine Scottish Pipe Band Saturday Night Parade. Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate Art’s life, at a come-and-go remembrance, Saturday, April 18, 2026, from 1-3 p.m., at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 183, Kincardine. In keeping with Art’s love for his community, donations in his memory may be made to the Kincardine and Community Health Care Foundation or the Alzheimer Society of Grey Bruce. Donations and condolences may be made on-line at www.daveylinklaterfuneralhome.com.
