John Louis Cushing of Kincardine died peacefully, at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre, Kincardine, surrounded by his loved ones, Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2025, at the age of 78 years. Beloved husband of Peggy Cushing. Loving father of Andrea Cushing of Barrie; step-daughter, Elyse Mitchell (Elton Da Costa Gomez) of Kincardine; and father-in-law of Alex Whately (Nate Clark) of Brantford. Fond grandfather of Jackson, Wyatt, Tenley, Marley and Lola. Dear brother of Brian Cushing of Whitby, Tom (Kim) Cushing of Sudbury and, Brenda Cushing of Sudbury; and brother-in-law of Karen Cushing of Barrie, Noreen (Colin) Reid of Sault Ste. Marie, and Nairy (Barb) Desaulnier of Iqaluit, Nunavut. Also missed by nephews, Brook, Rory, Joe, Dan, Steve, Rob and Nairy. Predeceased by his brother, Randy Cushing; stepson, Adam Lachance; and Angela Cushing. John loved his family and especially being a Papa. In his early years, he could always be found on the water in his sailboat, but his happy place in his later years, was walking around a billiard table or travelling the world, having adventures in real life and in food.
